Spotlight Licensing and Brand Management, Inc. President Carole Postal is confident The Great British Baking Show™ recipe journals from new licensee Con*Quest Journals will have all the ingredients necessary for success with the television series’ devoted American fan base.
“Con*Quest Journals is known for creating beautiful products for some of the most dedicated fandoms in pop culture and – because we know people can be just as passionate about baking and The Great British Baking Show – we are excited to see Con*Quest bring that same craftsmanship and attention for detail to this product line,” says Spotlight Licensing President Carole Postal.
The licensing deal, which was brokered by Spotlight Licensing on behalf of London-based series producer Love Productions, grants Con*Quest Journals the right to produce and market The Great British Baking Show Recipe Journals, Sticker Sheets, Sticky Notes, Recipe Cards, and Weekly Planners.
“Our journals and planners help people collect, protect, and keep track of the things that are important to them,” says Con*Quest Journals co-owner Shelley Harper. “For fans of The Great British Baking Show and bakers in general that could mean anything from recipes and grocery lists to notes, baking fails, photos or whatever else matters most to them.”
The Great British Baking Show, produced in the UK by Love Productions, airs on Netflix in the United States and on CBC in Canada. The television series (known in the UK as “The Great British Bake-Off”) features amateur bakers competing over a series of progressively more difficult “Signature,” “Technical,” and “Showstopper” challenges for bragging rights as “the UK’s best amateur baker.” The Great British Baking Show offers a look and feel unlike any other cooking show or reality television competition; the show is set in a big white tent on the grounds of an English country manor house rather than in a gleaming high-tech studio kitchen and the home bakers wear aprons over their everyday clothes rather than the crisp white uniforms of professional chefs. Most importantly, although the judges’ critiques can be blunt at times, the overall environment is warm, friendly, kind, and supportive.
