American Greetings has been granted rights to produceDownton Abbey eCards (i.e. digital greeting cards) for sale and deployment via its online greeting card websites (including Blue Mountain, Jacquie Lawson, and AmericanGreetings.com).
The new range, which will cater for every personal occasion, plays on the themes of wit and wisdom seen in the show’s six season run. Much-loved by audiences worldwide, the critically- acclaimed series was full of one-liners and quotes that perfectly translate to greetings that can be shared and enjoyed by fans.
“American Greetings came up with some very engaging ideas for Downton-themed eCards and we are delighted to be working with them to make Downton Abbey digital greeting cards available to fans who enjoy the fun and convenience of sending eCards to friends and loved ones via email and Facebook,” says Carole Postal, president of Spotlight Licensing and Brand Management.
The American Greetings deal was brokered by Spotlight Licensing and Brand Management, the agency appointed by NBCUniversal International Studios to oversee the Downton Abbeylicensing program throughout North America.
